Wait, I have been horsing around in the 'normal' linux timeline of
course with the bisecting, hopping from rc to rc, and not in the latest
linux-stable versions of 4.14 etc. So, it's possible that things
happened in there over time.

But, in that case it would also be suspicious that some other commit
would be covering up the issue, while I started out the investigation
with 4.19...
