The patch below was submitted to be applied to the 3.12-stable tree. I fail to see how this patch meets the stable kernel rules as found at Documentation/stable_kernel_rules.txt. I could be totally wrong, and if so, please respond to <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> and let me know why this patch should be applied. Otherwise, it is now dropped from my patch queues, never to be seen again. thanks, greg k-h ------------------ original commit in Linus's tree ------------------ >From 99b4f25122f43210278cde17a9d100906235a074 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: =?UTF-8?q?Christian=20K=C3=B6nig?= <christian.koenig@xxxxxxx> Date: Tue, 12 Nov 2013 12:58:06 +0100 Subject: [PATCH] drm/radeon: disable CIK CP semaphores for now MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Signed-off-by: Christian König <christian.koenig@xxxxxxx> Signed-off-by: Alex Deucher <alexander.deucher@xxxxxxx> Cc: stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx diff --git a/drivers/gpu/drm/radeon/cik.c b/drivers/gpu/drm/radeon/cik.c index 811fc1b5b4b9..c1698978a8f1 100644 --- a/drivers/gpu/drm/radeon/cik.c +++ b/drivers/gpu/drm/radeon/cik.c @@ -3561,6 +3561,8 @@ bool cik_semaphore_ring_emit(struct radeon_device *rdev, struct radeon_semaphore *semaphore, bool emit_wait) { +/* TODO: figure out why semaphore cause lockups */ +#if 0 uint64_t addr = semaphore->gpu_addr; unsigned sel = emit_wait ?
