This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled gpio: msm: make msm_gpio.summary_irq signed for error handling to the 3.12-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: gpio-msm-make-msm_gpio.summary_irq-signed-for-error-handling.patch and it can be found in the queue-3.12 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. >From bfea603bc54c0a736d45bc60b188a8cdae9aaaa3 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Dan Carpenter <dan.carpenter@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Thu, 7 Nov 2013 10:51:34 +0300 Subject: gpio: msm: make msm_gpio.summary_irq signed for error handling From: Dan Carpenter <dan.carpenter@xxxxxxxxxx> commit bfea603bc54c0a736d45bc60b188a8cdae9aaaa3 upstream. There is a bug in msm_gpio_probe() where we do: msm_gpio.summary_irq = platform_get_irq(pdev, 0); if (msm_gpio.summary_irq < 0) { The problem is that "msm_gpio.summary_irq" is unsigned so the error handling doesn't work. I've fixed it by making it signed.
