This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled l2tp: do not accept arbitrary sockets to the 3.18-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: l2tp-do-not-accept-arbitrary-sockets.patch and it can be found in the queue-3.18 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. >From foo@baz Thu Mar 29 08:53:48 CEST 2018 From: Eric Dumazet <edumazet@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Tue, 6 Mar 2018 07:54:53 -0800 Subject: l2tp: do not accept arbitrary sockets From: Eric Dumazet <edumazet@xxxxxxxxxx> [ Upstream commit 17cfe79a65f98abe535261856c5aef14f306dff7 ] syzkaller found an issue caused by lack of sufficient checks in l2tp_tunnel_create() RAW sockets can not be considered as UDP ones for instance. In another patch, we shall replace all pr_err() by less intrusive pr_debug() so that syzkaller can find other bugs faster.
