This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled net/netfilter/nf_conntrack_core: Fix net_conntrack_lock() to the 4.13-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: net-netfilter-nf_conntrack_core-fix-net_conntrack_lock.patch and it can be found in the queue-4.13 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. >From 3ef0c7a730de0bae03d86c19570af764fa3c4445 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Manfred Spraul <manfred@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Thu, 6 Jul 2017 20:45:59 +0200 Subject: net/netfilter/nf_conntrack_core: Fix net_conntrack_lock() From: Manfred Spraul <manfred@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> commit 3ef0c7a730de0bae03d86c19570af764fa3c4445 upstream. As we want to remove spin_unlock_wait() and replace it with explicit spin_lock()/spin_unlock() calls, we can use this to simplify the locking. In addition: - Reading nf_conntrack_locks_all needs ACQUIRE memory ordering. - The new code avoids the backwards loop. Only slightly tested, I did not manage to trigger calls to nf_conntrack_all_lock(). V2: With improved comments, to clearly show how the barriers pair.
