This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled iwlwifi: add workaround to disable wide channels in 5GHz to the 4.13-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: iwlwifi-add-workaround-to-disable-wide-channels-in-5ghz.patch and it can be found in the queue-4.13 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. >From 01a9c948a09348950515bf2abb6113ed83e696d8 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Luca Coelho <luciano.coelho@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Tue, 15 Aug 2017 20:48:41 +0300 Subject: iwlwifi: add workaround to disable wide channels in 5GHz From: Luca Coelho <luciano.coelho@xxxxxxxxx> commit 01a9c948a09348950515bf2abb6113ed83e696d8 upstream. The OTP in some SKUs have erroneously allowed 40MHz and 80MHz channels in the 5.2GHz band. The firmware has been modified to not allow this in those SKUs, so the driver needs to do the same otherwise the firmware will assert when we try to use it.
