This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled xfs: support ability to wait on new inodes to the 4.4-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: xfs-support-ability-to-wait-on-new-inodes.patch and it can be found in the queue-4.4 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. >From 756baca27fff3ecaeab9dbc7a5ee35a1d7bc0c7f Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Brian Foster <bfoster@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 26 Apr 2017 08:30:39 -0700 Subject: xfs: support ability to wait on new inodes From: Brian Foster <bfoster@xxxxxxxxxx> commit 756baca27fff3ecaeab9dbc7a5ee35a1d7bc0c7f upstream. Inodes that are inserted into the perag tree but still under construction are flagged with the XFS_INEW bit. Most contexts either skip such inodes when they are encountered or have the ability to handle them. The runtime quotaoff sequence introduces a context that must wait for construction of such inodes to correctly ensure that all dquots in the fs are released. In anticipation of this, support the ability to wait on new inodes. Wake the appropriate bit when XFS_INEW is cleared. Signed-off-by: Brian Foster <bfoster@xxxxxxxxxx> Reviewed-by: Darrick J.
