Hello, This update has been in Linus' tree since 21 Sep 2016. There have been numerous bug reports about i915 GPUs hanging after resuming from suspend or hibernate. Here is one of the most recent: https://bugzilla.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99632 I have validated that the patch works for me by applying it against 4.9.6. It also applies cleanly against 4.9.7.
