This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled Btrfs: remove old tree_root case in btrfs_read_locked_inode() to the 4.9-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: btrfs-remove-old-tree_root-case-in-btrfs_read_locked_inode.patch and it can be found in the queue-4.9 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. >From 67ade058ef2c65a3e56878af9c293ec76722a2e5 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Omar Sandoval <osandov@xxxxxx> Date: Wed, 25 Jan 2017 17:06:38 -0800 Subject: Btrfs: remove old tree_root case in btrfs_read_locked_inode() From: Omar Sandoval <osandov@xxxxxx> commit 67ade058ef2c65a3e56878af9c293ec76722a2e5 upstream. As Jeff explained in c2951f32d36c ("btrfs: remove old tree_root dirent processing in btrfs_real_readdir()"), supporting this old format is no longer necessary since the Btrfs magic number has been updated since we changed to the current format. There are other places where we still handle this old format, but since this is part of a fix that is going to stable, I'm only removing this one for now.
