This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled kvm: nVMX: Allow L1 to intercept software exceptions (#BP and #OF) to the 4.4-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: kvm-nvmx-allow-l1-to-intercept-software-exceptions-bp-and-of.patch and it can be found in the queue-4.4 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. >From ef85b67385436ddc1998f45f1d6a210f935b3388 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Jim Mattson <jmattson@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Mon, 12 Dec 2016 11:01:37 -0800 Subject: kvm: nVMX: Allow L1 to intercept software exceptions (#BP and #OF) From: Jim Mattson <jmattson@xxxxxxxxxx> commit ef85b67385436ddc1998f45f1d6a210f935b3388 upstream. When L2 exits to L0 due to "exception or NMI", software exceptions (#BP and #OF) for which L1 has requested an intercept should be handled by L1 rather than L0. Previously, only hardware exceptions were forwarded to L1.
