Hi! Please pick 334bb773 for 4.9 (only). It's the x86 piece of modversions fixes -- discussed to death in the biggest thread during the 4.9 cycle. The current 4.9 state is that _usually_ module loading succeeds with a scary-looking warning; there's a not yet fully explained report of module loading failing at all. Even just the warning is worth fixing as it wastes people's time looking for what is wrong; it also, being WARN_ONCE, hides real symbol mismatches from being shown. The patch has been accepted into mainline for 4.10 and by Ben Hutchings into Debian's 4.9 tree.
