Question about commit 5b8df24e22e0b

Hi,

When I submitted the patch that ended up as mainline commit 5b8df24e22e0b, I intended it to also be sent to stable. My copy indicates that it did get sent that way; however, the "Cc: stable" line is not in the commit message. That was my error.

As the patch is quite intrusive, do you think it could be backported to the stable kernels? In its present form, the patch will not apply cleanly, but I can and will provide the necessary form. The patch was tested on some specially modified Fedora kernels and it is known to fix the problem in older kernels.

Is there anything else I should do?

Thanks,

Larry
