This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled iio: dac: mcp4725: set iio name property in sysfs to my staging git tree which can be found at git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/staging.git in the staging-linus branch. The patch will show up in the next release of the linux-next tree (usually sometime within the next 24 hours during the week.) The patch will hopefully also be merged in Linus's tree for the next -rc kernel release. If you have any questions about this process, please let me know. >From 97a249e98a72d6b79fb7350a8dd56b147e9d5bdb Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Yong Li <sdliyong@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 6 Jan 2016 09:09:43 +0800 Subject: iio: dac: mcp4725: set iio name property in sysfs Without this change, the name entity for mcp4725 is missing in /sys/bus/iio/devices/iio\:device*/name With this change, name is reported correctly Signed-off-by: Yong Li <sdliyong@xxxxxxxxx> Cc: <Stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Signed-off-by: Jonathan Cameron <jic23@xxxxxxxxxx> --- drivers/iio/dac/mcp4725.c | 1 + 1 file changed, 1 insertion(+) diff --git a/drivers/iio/dac/mcp4725.c b/drivers/iio/dac/mcp4725.c index 43d14588448d..b4dde8315210 100644 --- a/drivers/iio/dac/mcp4725.c +++ b/drivers/iio/dac/mcp4725.c @@ -300,6 +300,7 @@ static int mcp4725_probe(struct i2c_client *client, data->client = client; indio_dev->dev.parent = &client->dev; + indio_dev->name = id->name; indio_dev->info = &mcp4725_info; indio_dev->channels = &mcp4725_channel; indio_dev->num_channels = 1; -- 2.7.0 -- To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe stable" in the body of a message to majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html
