The patch titled Subject: ocfs2: fix BUG when calculate new backup super has been added to the -mm tree. Its filename is ocfs2-fix-bug-when-calculate-new-backup-super.patch This patch should soon appear at http://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmots/broken-out/ocfs2-fix-bug-when-calculate-new-backup-super.patch and later at http://ozlabs.org/~akpm/mmotm/broken-out/ocfs2-fix-bug-when-calculate-new-backup-super.patch Before you just go and hit "reply", please: a) Consider who else should be cc'ed b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's *** Remember to use Documentation/SubmitChecklist when testing your code *** The -mm tree is included into linux-next and is updated there every 3-4 working days ------------------------------------------------------ From: Joseph Qi <joseph.qi@xxxxxxxxxx> Subject: ocfs2: fix BUG when calculate new backup super When resizing, it firstly extends the last gd. Once it should backup super in the gd, it calculates new backup super and update the corresponding value. But it currently doesn't consider the situation that the backup super is already done. And in this case, it still sets the bit in gd bitmap and then decrease from bg_free_bits_count, which leads to a corrupted gd and trigger the BUG in ocfs2_block_group_set_bits: BUG_ON(le16_to_cpu(bg->bg_free_bits_count) < num_bits); So check whether the backup super is done and then do the updates.
