Oy, seems nobody tested -rc1 on i386:

  MODPOST vmlinux.o
  GEN .version
  CHK include/generated/compile.h
  UPD include/generated/compile.h
  CC init/version.o
  LD init/built-in.o
  LD .tmp_vmlinux1
fs/built-in.o: In function `ext4_new_inode':
(.text+0x6b280): undefined reference to `__udivdi3'
fs/built-in.o: In function `ext4_new_inode':
(.text+0x6b328): undefined reference to `__udivdi3'
make[2]: *** [.tmp_vmlinux1] Error 1

amd64 built without problems.

My fault, too. I only tested 3.4.39-rc1 which went throught fine, so
at least I don't expect problems there.
