This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled seg6: add support for SRv6 H.Encaps.Red behavior to the 5.15-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: seg6-add-support-for-srv6-h.encaps.red-behavior.patch and it can be found in the queue-5.15 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 92b53ccdf21e19a30ec9707d97d1ae92f7e19b3a Author: Andrea Mayer <andrea.mayer@xxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed Jul 27 20:54:05 2022 +0200 seg6: add support for SRv6 H.Encaps.Red behavior [ Upstream commit b07c8cdbe918aa17da864da9a89b22afaed0393e ] The SRv6 H.Encaps.Red behavior described in [1] is an optimization of the SRv6 H.Encaps behavior [2]. H.Encaps.Red reduces the length of the SRH by excluding the first segment (SID) in the SRH of the pushed IPv6 header. The first SID is only placed in the IPv6 Destination Address field of the pushed IPv6 header. When the SRv6 Policy only contains one SID the SRH is omitted, unless there is an HMAC TLV to be carried.
