This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled net/rose: prevent integer overflows in rose_setsockopt() to the 6.12-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: net-rose-prevent-integer-overflows-in-rose_setsockop.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.12 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 258e8d885babcc359692cd0e3506a241f2199a65 Author: Nikita Zhandarovich <n.zhandarovich@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed Jan 15 08:42:20 2025 -0800 net/rose: prevent integer overflows in rose_setsockopt() [ Upstream commit d640627663bfe7d8963c7615316d7d4ef60f3b0b ] In case of possible unpredictably large arguments passed to rose_setsockopt() and multiplied by extra values on top of that, integer overflows may occur. Do the safest minimum and fix these issues by checking the contents of 'opt' and returning -EINVAL if they are too large. Also, switch to unsigned int and remove useless check for negative 'opt' in ROSE_IDLE case.
