This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled octeontx2-af: Fix potential integer overflows on integer shifts to the 6.11-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: octeontx2-af-fix-potential-integer-overflows-on-inte.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.11 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 2b53f8f7c351a4380a316cf8b28a1029c8b14b4d Author: Colin Ian King <colin.i.king@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Thu Oct 10 16:45:19 2024 +0100 octeontx2-af: Fix potential integer overflows on integer shifts [ Upstream commit 637c4f6fe40befa04f19c38b5d15429cbb9191d9 ] The left shift int 32 bit integer constants 1 is evaluated using 32 bit arithmetic and then assigned to a 64 bit unsigned integer. In the case where the shift is 32 or more this can lead to an overflow. Avoid this by shifting using the BIT_ULL macro instead.
