This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled selftests/bpf: Fix cross-compiling urandom_read to the 6.11-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: selftests-bpf-fix-cross-compiling-urandom_read.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.11 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit fd70a11e308eaf2026baf9fbb2104f938698f852 Author: Tony Ambardar <tony.ambardar@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Tue Oct 8 21:07:20 2024 -0700 selftests/bpf: Fix cross-compiling urandom_read [ Upstream commit fd526e121c4d6f71aed82d21a8b8277b03e60b43 ] Linking of urandom_read and liburandom_read.so prefers LLVM's 'ld.lld' but falls back to using 'ld' if unsupported. However, this fallback discards any existing makefile macro for LD and can break cross-compilation. Fix by changing the fallback to use the target linker $(LD), passed via '-fuse-ld=' using an absolute path rather than a linker "flavour".
