This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled scsi: smartpqi: correct stream detection to the 6.6-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: scsi-smartpqi-correct-stream-detection.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.6 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 555d0134cfddb620b5def1e8bfff406d70da51c9 Author: Mahesh Rajashekhara <mahesh.rajashekhara@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Tue Aug 27 13:54:56 2024 -0500 scsi: smartpqi: correct stream detection [ Upstream commit 4c76114932d1d6fad2e72823e7898a3c960cf2a7 ] Correct stream detection by initializing the structure pqi_scsi_dev_raid_map_data to 0s. When the OS issues SCSI READ commands, the driver erroneously considers them as SCSI WRITES. If they are identified as sequential IOs, the driver then submits those requests via the RAID path instead of the AIO path. The 'is_write' flag might be set for SCSI READ commands also. The driver may interpret SCSI READ commands as SCSI WRITE commands, resulting in IOs being submitted through the RAID path. Note: This does not cause data corruption.
