This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled idpf: fix netdev Tx queue stop/wake to the 6.10-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: idpf-fix-netdev-tx-queue-stop-wake.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.10 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit c453341c47dccfbc87bf7c67ed0be13c8e5de572 Author: Michal Kubiak <michal.kubiak@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed Sep 4 17:47:47 2024 +0200 idpf: fix netdev Tx queue stop/wake [ Upstream commit e4b398dd82f5d5867bc5f442c43abc8fba30ed2c ] netif_txq_maybe_stop() returns -1, 0, or 1, while idpf_tx_maybe_stop_common() says it returns 0 or -EBUSY. As a result, there sometimes are Tx queue timeout warnings despite that the queue is empty or there is at least enough space to restart it. Make idpf_tx_maybe_stop_common() inline and returning true or false, handling the return of netif_txq_maybe_stop() properly. Use a correct goto in idpf_tx_maybe_stop_splitq() to avoid stopping the queue or incrementing the stops counter twice.
