This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled spi: microchip-core: ensure TX and RX FIFOs are empty at start of a transfer to the 6.6-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: spi-microchip-core-ensure-tx-and-rx-fifos-are-empty-.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.6 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 281ff93c6605b0bfd306b33efcaa45970db15bfd Author: Steve Wilkins <steve.wilkins@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Mon Jul 15 12:13:56 2024 +0100 spi: microchip-core: ensure TX and RX FIFOs are empty at start of a transfer [ Upstream commit 9cf71eb0faef4bff01df4264841b8465382d7927 ] While transmitting with rx_len == 0, the RX FIFO is not going to be emptied in the interrupt handler. A subsequent transfer could then read crap from the previous transfer out of the RX FIFO into the start RX buffer. The core provides a register that will empty the RX and TX FIFOs, so do that before each transfer.
