This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled firmware: cs_dsp: Validate payload length before processing block to the 6.1-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: firmware-cs_dsp-validate-payload-length-before-proce.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.1 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 56871c65491f36fa330abfd4130a8d15a4029a18 Author: Richard Fitzgerald <rf@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Thu Jun 27 15:14:31 2024 +0100 firmware: cs_dsp: Validate payload length before processing block [ Upstream commit 6598afa9320b6ab13041616950ca5f8f938c0cf1 ] Move the payload length check in cs_dsp_load() and cs_dsp_coeff_load() to be done before the block is processed. The check that the length of a block payload does not exceed the number of remaining bytes in the firwmware file buffer was being done near the end of the loop iteration. However, some code before that check used the length field without validating it.
