This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled net: stmmac: enable HW-accelerated VLAN stripping for gmac4 only to the 6.9-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: net-stmmac-enable-hw-accelerated-vlan-stripping-for-.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.9 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 5a889ed039083f9cb19fa1ecff76e5a3c236ef44 Author: Furong Xu <0x1207@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Mon Jul 1 16:19:36 2024 +0800 net: stmmac: enable HW-accelerated VLAN stripping for gmac4 only [ Upstream commit 8eb301bd7b0f45d36e663ecbe59b7c80b9863950 ] Commit 750011e239a5 ("net: stmmac: Add support for HW-accelerated VLAN stripping") enables MAC level VLAN tag stripping for all MAC cores, but leaves set_hw_vlan_mode() and rx_hw_vlan() un-implemented for both gmac and xgmac. On gmac and xgmac, ethtool reports rx-vlan-offload is on, both MAC and driver do nothing about VLAN packets actually, although VLAN works well. Driver level stripping should be used on gmac and xgmac for now.
