This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled dma-buf/sw-sync: don't enable IRQ from sync_print_obj() to the 5.4-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: dma-buf-sw-sync-don-t-enable-irq-from-sync_print_obj.patch and it can be found in the queue-5.4 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 0871cc6b6908ba3e045f343347bb600b3842738b Author: Tetsuo Handa <penguin-kernel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Sun May 5 23:08:31 2024 +0900 dma-buf/sw-sync: don't enable IRQ from sync_print_obj() [ Upstream commit b794918961516f667b0c745aebdfebbb8a98df39 ] Since commit a6aa8fca4d79 ("dma-buf/sw-sync: Reduce irqsave/irqrestore from known context") by error replaced spin_unlock_irqrestore() with spin_unlock_irq() for both sync_debugfs_show() and sync_print_obj() despite sync_print_obj() is called from sync_debugfs_show(), lockdep complains inconsistent lock state warning. Use plain spin_{lock,unlock}() for sync_print_obj(), for sync_debugfs_show() is already using spin_{lock,unlock}_irq().
