This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled perf annotate: Split branch stack cycles information out of 'struct annotation_line' to the 6.6-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: perf-annotate-split-branch-stack-cycles-information-.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.6 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit b2dcf23780b6179d0eb4bfbb4dfd8bc4ca199826 Author: Namhyung Kim <namhyung@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Fri Nov 3 12:19:03 2023 -0700 perf annotate: Split branch stack cycles information out of 'struct annotation_line' [ Upstream commit de2c7eb59c342d1a61124caaf2993e325a9becb7 ] The cycles info is used only when branch stack is provided. Separate them from 'struct annotation_line' into a separate struct and lazy allocate them to save some memory. Committer notes: Make annotation__compute_ipc() check if the lazy allocation works, bailing out if so, its callers already do error checking and propagation.
