This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled i2c: synquacer: Fix an error handling path in synquacer_i2c_probe() to the 6.8-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: i2c-synquacer-fix-an-error-handling-path-in-synquace.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.8 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 0cc02bc8e603bfd57c1d9fd2074e3f66a7c8e4ea Author: Christophe JAILLET <christophe.jaillet@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Sat Jan 6 13:48:24 2024 +0100 i2c: synquacer: Fix an error handling path in synquacer_i2c_probe() [ Upstream commit 55750148e5595bb85605e8fbb40b2759c2c4c2d7 ] If an error occurs after the clk_prepare_enable() call, it should be undone by a corresponding clk_disable_unprepare() call, as already done in the remove() function. As devm_clk_get() is used, we can switch to devm_clk_get_enabled() to handle it automatically and fix the probe. Update the remove() function accordingly and remove the now useless clk_disable_unprepare() call.
