This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled wifi: mac80211: don't use rate mask for scanning to the 6.1-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: wifi-mac80211-don-t-use-rate-mask-for-scanning.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.1 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit f93897994ef6c6d8b7e5257b5b71a30871b95f19 Author: Johannes Berg <johannes.berg@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Tue Mar 26 22:08:54 2024 +0100 wifi: mac80211: don't use rate mask for scanning [ Upstream commit ab9177d83c040eba58387914077ebca56f14fae6 ] The rate mask is intended for use during operation, and can be set to only have masks for the currently active band. As such, it cannot be used for scanning which can be on other bands as well. Simply ignore the rate masks during scanning to avoid warnings from incorrect settings.
