This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled timers: Get rid of del_singleshot_timer_sync() to the 6.1-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: timers-get-rid-of-del_singleshot_timer_sync.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.1 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit c5055983775072b2cf214721020f58b42b1bae6b Author: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed Nov 23 21:18:37 2022 +0100 timers: Get rid of del_singleshot_timer_sync() [ Upstream commit 9a5a305686971f4be10c6d7251c8348d74b3e014 ] del_singleshot_timer_sync() used to be an optimization for deleting timers which are not rearmed from the timer callback function. This optimization turned out to be broken and got mapped to del_timer_sync() about 17 years ago. Get rid of the undocumented indirection and use del_timer_sync() directly. No functional change.
