This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled coresight: Fix issue where a source device's helpers aren't disabled to the 6.7-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: coresight-fix-issue-where-a-source-device-s-helpers-.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.7 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 14c3d6b0430825e702378003271c0a4814cddb11 Author: James Clark <james.clark@xxxxxxx> Date: Mon Jan 29 15:40:32 2024 +0000 coresight: Fix issue where a source device's helpers aren't disabled [ Upstream commit f68bbe4dcfa303164922bc331d2e8d38ed2d4f23 ] The linked commit reverts the change that accidentally used some sysfs enable/disable functions from Perf which broke the refcounting, but it also removes the fact that the sysfs disable function disabled the helpers. Add a new wrapper function that does both which is used by both Perf and sysfs, and label the sysfs disable function appropriately. The naming of all of the functions will be tidied up later to avoid this happening again.
