This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled octeontx2-pf: Use default max_active works instead of one to the 6.8-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: octeontx2-pf-use-default-max_active-works-instead-of.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.8 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 11343342bc824a533093d553c720641504c586e9 Author: Subbaraya Sundeep <sbhatta@xxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Mon Mar 18 14:59:56 2024 +0530 octeontx2-pf: Use default max_active works instead of one [ Upstream commit 7558ce0d974ced1dc07edc1197f750fe28c52e57 ] Only one execution context for the workqueue used for PF and VFs mailbox communication is incorrect since multiple works are queued simultaneously by all the VFs and PF link UP messages. Hence use default number of execution contexts by passing zero as max_active to alloc_workqueue function. With this fix in place, modify UP messages also to wait until completion.
