This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled nfp: flower: handle acti_netdevs allocation failure to the 5.15-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: nfp-flower-handle-acti_netdevs-allocation-failure.patch and it can be found in the queue-5.15 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit ed28a319a9cc7c4355111acaf725c5665050b621 Author: Duoming Zhou <duoming@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Fri Mar 8 22:25:40 2024 +0800 nfp: flower: handle acti_netdevs allocation failure [ Upstream commit 84e95149bd341705f0eca6a7fcb955c548805002 ] The kmalloc_array() in nfp_fl_lag_do_work() will return null, if the physical memory has run out. As a result, if we dereference the acti_netdevs, the null pointer dereference bugs will happen. This patch adds a check to judge whether allocation failure occurs. If it happens, the delayed work will be rescheduled and try again.
