This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled x86/xen: fix percpu vcpu_info allocation to the 6.6-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: x86-xen-fix-percpu-vcpu_info-allocation.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.6 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit abbbb744e94419239d3c6cd9cc13b6fa3cd703bb Author: Juergen Gross <jgross@xxxxxxxx> Date: Fri Nov 24 08:48:52 2023 +0100 x86/xen: fix percpu vcpu_info allocation [ Upstream commit db2832309a82b9acc4b8cc33a1831d36507ec13e ] Today the percpu struct vcpu_info is allocated via DEFINE_PER_CPU(), meaning that it could cross a page boundary. In this case registering it with the hypervisor will fail, resulting in a panic(). This can easily be fixed by using DEFINE_PER_CPU_ALIGNED() instead, as struct vcpu_info is guaranteed to have a size of 64 bytes, matching the cache line size of x86 64-bit processors (Xen doesn't support 32-bit processors).
