This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled net: hns3: fix VF reset fail issue to the 6.1-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: net-hns3-fix-vf-reset-fail-issue.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.1 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 45bc1f55162c8725c4b8aa7ce640a900da04465b Author: Jijie Shao <shaojijie@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Fri Nov 10 17:37:12 2023 +0800 net: hns3: fix VF reset fail issue [ Upstream commit 65e98bb56fa3ce2edb400930c05238c9b380500e ] Currently the reset process in hns3 and firmware watchdog init process is asynchronous. We think firmware watchdog initialization is completed before VF clear the interrupt source. However, firmware initialization may not complete early. So VF will receive multiple reset interrupts and fail to reset. So we add delay before VF interrupt source and 5 ms delay is enough to avoid second reset interrupt.
