This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled wifi: ath12k: fix possible out-of-bound read in ath12k_htt_pull_ppdu_stats() to the 6.5-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: wifi-ath12k-fix-possible-out-of-bound-read-in-ath12k.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.5 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 0d83af33865d15690879503aa75fa6c087ea5be0 Author: Baochen Qiang <quic_bqiang@xxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Fri Sep 1 09:56:02 2023 +0800 wifi: ath12k: fix possible out-of-bound read in ath12k_htt_pull_ppdu_stats() [ Upstream commit 1bc44a505a229bb1dd4957e11aa594edeea3690e ] len is extracted from HTT message and could be an unexpected value in case errors happen, so add validation before using to avoid possible out-of-bound read in the following message iteration and parsing. The same issue also applies to ppdu_info->ppdu_stats.common.num_users, so validate it before using too. These are found during code review. Compile test only.
