This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled ipvlan: properly track tx_errors to the 5.10-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: ipvlan-properly-track-tx_errors.patch and it can be found in the queue-5.10 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 2351539749227c71f342aab791c5d7ae718070ac Author: Eric Dumazet <edumazet@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Thu Oct 26 13:14:46 2023 +0000 ipvlan: properly track tx_errors [ Upstream commit ff672b9ffeb3f82135488ac16c5c5eb4b992999b ] Both ipvlan_process_v4_outbound() and ipvlan_process_v6_outbound() increment dev->stats.tx_errors in case of errors. Unfortunately there are two issues : 1) ipvlan_get_stats64() does not propagate dev->stats.tx_errors to user. 2) Increments are not atomic. KCSAN would complain eventually. Use DEV_STATS_INC() to not miss an update, and change ipvlan_get_stats64() to copy the value back to user. Fixes: 2ad7bf363841 ("ipvlan: Initial check-in of the IPVLAN driver.")
