This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled ice: Remove redundant pci_enable_pcie_error_reporting() to the 5.15-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: ice-remove-redundant-pci_enable_pcie_error_reporting.patch and it can be found in the queue-5.15 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 17dc13c7587cc4f20d5cd4c8e957eb6089c13239 Author: Bjorn Helgaas <bhelgaas@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed Jan 18 17:46:09 2023 -0600 ice: Remove redundant pci_enable_pcie_error_reporting() [ Upstream commit ba153552c18d7eb839ec0bad7d7484e29ba4719c ] pci_enable_pcie_error_reporting() enables the device to send ERR_* Messages. Since f26e58bf6f54 ("PCI/AER: Enable error reporting when AER is native"), the PCI core does this for all devices during enumeration. Remove the redundant pci_enable_pcie_error_reporting() call from the driver. Also remove the corresponding pci_disable_pcie_error_reporting() from the driver .remove() path. Note that this doesn't control interrupt generation by the Root Port; that is controlled by the AER Root Error Command register, which is managed by the AER service driver.
