This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled pwm: lpc32xx: Remove handling of PWM channels to the 6.1-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: pwm-lpc32xx-remove-handling-of-pwm-channels.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.1 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 2646f2bda035980658d3755045db5e5ada6b9d43 Author: Vladimir Zapolskiy <vz@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Mon Jul 17 17:52:57 2023 +0200 pwm: lpc32xx: Remove handling of PWM channels [ Upstream commit 4aae44f65827f0213a7361cf9c32cfe06114473f ] Because LPC32xx PWM controllers have only a single output which is registered as the only PWM device/channel per controller, it is known in advance that pwm->hwpwm value is always 0. On basis of this fact simplify the code by removing operations with pwm->hwpwm, there is no controls which require channel number as input. Even though I wasn't aware at the time when I forward ported that patch, this fixes a null pointer dereference as lpc32xx->chip.pwms is NULL before devm_pwmchip_add() is called.
