This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled wifi: ath10k: Use RMW accessors for changing LNKCTL to the 4.14-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: wifi-ath10k-use-rmw-accessors-for-changing-lnkctl.patch and it can be found in the queue-4.14 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 3d08a70770b2c18d9e5b014d5f84142f7936530f Author: Ilpo Järvinen <ilpo.jarvinen@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Mon Jul 17 15:05:02 2023 +0300 wifi: ath10k: Use RMW accessors for changing LNKCTL [ Upstream commit f139492a09f15254fa261245cdbd65555cdf39e3 ] Don't assume that only the driver would be accessing LNKCTL. ASPM policy changes can trigger write to LNKCTL outside of driver's control. Use RMW capability accessors which does proper locking to avoid losing concurrent updates to the register value. On restore, clear the ASPMC field properly.
