This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled net/mlx5: Skip clock update work when device is in error state to the 5.10-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: net-mlx5-skip-clock-update-work-when-device-is-in-er.patch and it can be found in the queue-5.10 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit e51c259f9895290fa3627e13d3a941111857a211 Author: Moshe Shemesh <moshe@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed Jul 19 11:33:44 2023 +0300 net/mlx5: Skip clock update work when device is in error state [ Upstream commit d006207625657322ba8251b6e7e829f9659755dc ] When device is in error state, marked by the flag MLX5_DEVICE_STATE_INTERNAL_ERROR, the HW and PCI may not be accessible and so clock update work should be skipped. Furthermore, such access through PCI in error state, after calling mlx5_pci_disable_device() can result in failing to recover from pci errors.
