This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled USB: dwc3: fix use-after-free on core driver unbind to the 5.15-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: usb-dwc3-fix-use-after-free-on-core-driver-unbind.patch and it can be found in the queue-5.15 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 5b9830d5a1be5da704129fe6cb95fe5f36397745 Author: Johan Hovold <johan+linaro@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed Jun 7 12:05:40 2023 +0200 USB: dwc3: fix use-after-free on core driver unbind [ Upstream commit e3dbb657571509044be15184a13134fa7c1fdca1 ] Some dwc3 glue drivers are currently accessing the driver data of the child core device directly, which is clearly a bad idea as the child may not have probed yet or may have been unbound from its driver. As a workaround until the glue drivers have been fixed, clear the driver data pointer before allowing the glue parent device to runtime suspend to prevent its driver from accessing data that has been freed during unbind.
