This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled drm/fbdev-dma: Fix documented default preferred_bpp value to the 6.4-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: drm-fbdev-dma-fix-documented-default-preferred_bpp-v.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.4 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 9874576143edd04da17ddc4c1e193e5a747512f6 Author: Geert Uytterhoeven <geert+renesas@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Thu Jul 6 17:30:31 2023 +0200 drm/fbdev-dma: Fix documented default preferred_bpp value [ Upstream commit 15008052b34efaa86c1d56190ac73c4bf8c462f9 ] As of commit 6c80a93be62d398e ("drm/fb-helper: Initialize fb-helper's preferred BPP in prepare function"), the preferred_bpp parameter of drm_fb_helper_prepare() defaults to 32 instead of drm_mode_config.preferred_depth. Hence this also applies to drm_fbdev_dma_setup(), which just passes its own preferred_bpp parameter.
