This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled mips: Move initrd_start check after initrd address sanitisation. to the 6.1-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: mips-move-initrd_start-check-after-initrd-address-sa.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.1 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit ac8e2c4f729f94fa3f56a1308cf3f0dccaa2331d Author: Liviu Dudau <liviu@xxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Tue May 9 18:29:21 2023 +0100 mips: Move initrd_start check after initrd address sanitisation. [ Upstream commit 4897a898a216058dec55e5e5902534e6e224fcdf ] PAGE_OFFSET is technically a virtual address so when checking the value of initrd_start against it we should make sure that it has been sanitised from the values passed by the bootloader. Without this change, even with a bootloader that passes correct addresses for an initrd, we are failing to load it on MT7621 boards, for example.
