This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled bpf: factor out fetching basic kfunc metadata to the 6.2-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: bpf-factor-out-fetching-basic-kfunc-metadata.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.2 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 37b4560dc5afe21de0eb18fb7e21fe20856c3910 Author: Andrii Nakryiko <andrii@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed Mar 8 10:41:14 2023 -0800 bpf: factor out fetching basic kfunc metadata [ Upstream commit 07236eab7a3139da97aef9f5f21f403be82a82ea ] Factor out logic to fetch basic kfunc metadata based on struct bpf_insn. This is not exactly short or trivial code to just copy/paste and this information is sometimes necessary in other parts of the verifier logic. Subsequent patches will rely on this to determine if an instruction is a kfunc call to iterator next method. No functional changes intended, including that verbose() warning behavior when kfunc is not allowed for a particular program type.
