This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled serial: 8250: ASPEED_VUART: select REGMAP instead of depending on it to the 5.10-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: serial-8250-aspeed_vuart-select-regmap-instead-of-de.patch and it can be found in the queue-5.10 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 52b867301f93f4630d2caddcbaed2df8b5fc28d7 Author: Randy Dunlap <rdunlap@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Sat Feb 25 21:39:53 2023 -0800 serial: 8250: ASPEED_VUART: select REGMAP instead of depending on it [ Upstream commit f8086d1a65ac693e3fd863128352b4b11ee7324d ] REGMAP is a hidden (not user visible) symbol. Users cannot set it directly thru "make *config", so drivers should select it instead of depending on it if they need it. Consistently using "select" or "depends on" can also help reduce Kconfig circular dependency issues. Therefore, change the use of "depends on REGMAP" to "select REGMAP".
