This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled qed/qed_dev: guard against a possible division by zero to the 6.1-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: qed-qed_dev-guard-against-a-possible-division-by-zer.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.1 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 38a87e6d48c5b66f8d559f2b2d84d36deb38de4f Author: Daniil Tatianin <d-tatianin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Thu Mar 9 23:15:56 2023 +0300 qed/qed_dev: guard against a possible division by zero [ Upstream commit 1a9dc5610ef89d807acdcfbff93a558f341a44da ] Previously we would divide total_left_rate by zero if num_vports happened to be 1 because non_requested_count is calculated as num_vports - req_count. Guard against this by validating num_vports at the beginning and returning an error otherwise. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with the SVACE static analysis tool.
