This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled thermal: intel: BXT_PMIC: select REGMAP instead of depending on it to the 5.10-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: thermal-intel-bxt_pmic-select-regmap-instead-of-depe.patch and it can be found in the queue-5.10 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 5b29801bb135e5c3fd09a80d72885503412014c0 Author: Randy Dunlap <rdunlap@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Sat Feb 25 21:39:52 2023 -0800 thermal: intel: BXT_PMIC: select REGMAP instead of depending on it [ Upstream commit 1467fb960349dfa5e300658f1a409dde2cfb0c51 ] REGMAP is a hidden (not user visible) symbol. Users cannot set it directly thru "make *config", so drivers should select it instead of depending on it if they need it. Consistently using "select" or "depends on" can also help reduce Kconfig circular dependency issues. Therefore, change the use of "depends on REGMAP" to "select REGMAP".
