This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled iommu/vt-d: Fix PCI device refcount leak in dmar_dev_scope_init() to the 5.10-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: iommu-vt-d-fix-pci-device-refcount-leak-in-dmar_dev_.patch and it can be found in the queue-5.10 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit ab880711a1eb1552524aec484e33a48f898fb328 Author: Xiongfeng Wang <wangxiongfeng2@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Thu Dec 1 12:01:27 2022 +0800 iommu/vt-d: Fix PCI device refcount leak in dmar_dev_scope_init() [ Upstream commit 4bedbbd782ebbe7287231fea862c158d4f08a9e3 ] for_each_pci_dev() is implemented by pci_get_device(). The comment of pci_get_device() says that it will increase the reference count for the returned pci_dev and also decrease the reference count for the input pci_dev @from if it is not NULL. If we break for_each_pci_dev() loop with pdev not NULL, we need to call pci_dev_put() to decrease the reference count. Add the missing pci_dev_put() for the error path to avoid reference count leak.
