This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled spi: stm32: Print summary 'callbacks suppressed' message to the 5.10-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: spi-stm32-print-summary-callbacks-suppressed-message.patch and it can be found in the queue-5.10 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit 6fe2efc4b337f4037b8d953d4c107df7261bc374 Author: Marek Vasut <marex@xxxxxxx> Date: Tue Oct 18 20:35:13 2022 +0200 spi: stm32: Print summary 'callbacks suppressed' message [ Upstream commit 195583504be28df5d608a4677dd796117aea875f ] The original fix "spi: stm32: Rate-limit the 'Communication suspended' message" still leads to "stm32h7_spi_irq_thread: 1696 callbacks suppressed" spew in the kernel log. Since this 'Communication suspended' message is a debug print, add RATELIMIT_MSG_ON_RELEASE flag to inhibit the "callbacks suspended" part during normal operation and only print summary at the end.
