This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled riscv: process: fix kernel info leakage to the 6.0-stable tree which can be found at: http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary The filename of the patch is: riscv-process-fix-kernel-info-leakage.patch and it can be found in the queue-6.0 subdirectory. If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree, please let <stable@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> know about it. commit b43aecc82138eb721c1aae2d7211db3e48f83dad Author: Jisheng Zhang <jszhang@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Sat Oct 29 19:34:50 2022 +0800 riscv: process: fix kernel info leakage [ Upstream commit 6510c78490c490a6636e48b61eeaa6fb65981f4b ] thread_struct's s[12] may contain random kernel memory content, which may be finally leaked to userspace. This is a security hole. Fix it by clearing the s[12] array in thread_struct when fork. As for kthread case, it's better to clear the s[12] array as well.
